Extra-Curricular Activities
At Horizon School Town Square, we encourage learning to go beyond the classroom.
At Horizon, we believe in providing a well-rounded education that extends beyond the traditional classroom setting. That's why we offer a diverse range of before and after-school activities and enrichment options to cater to the interests and talents of every student.
For those inclined towards sports, we have football, basketball, netball, rugby, swimming clubs and more, where children can develop their physical skills and teamwork abilities. For the creatively inclined, there are art and music classes where students can explore their artistic expression through various mediums. Additionally, we offer STEM clubs where young minds can delve into the exciting worlds of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. With such a wide array of options, every child at our primary school has the chance to discover and nurture their passions beyond the regular school day.
Different options exist depending on the child’s year group.

School trips and residentials
At Horizon School Town Square, we encourage learning to go beyond the classroom.
We enrich our classroom curriculum with relevant school trips and excursions, which enhance students' experiences outside of the classroom. Trips are often linked to curriculum topics and promote skills such as team building, self confidence and independence. Many of our school trips instill a sense of adventure in our young students.
We run an appropriate school trip for every year group once or twice a term. Excursions include The Green Planet, Dubai Aquarium, Al Ain Zoo, Oli Oli and Children’s City.
In addition, our Key Stage Two pupils (Years 3-6) go on an outdoor adventure once a year. Designed to promote skills of leadership and independence, Year 3 visits a wilderness site, usually in RAK or Sharjah for a day trip, whilst Years 4, 5 & 6 stay overnight. This direct experience of nature is the highlight of the school calendar and often sees life-long friendships being formed.
Horizon School Town Square also offers an annual international ski trip every January. Students from Years 4-6 are eligible to join the popular trip to France, where they enjoy student friendly accomodation located close to the slopes.
After school care at Horizon English School
Sibling Club – children in FS1 and FS2 with older siblings have the option to join our sibling club, after school. Activities range from music and singing to arts and crafts to ensure that younger children are kept interested and engaged until their older siblings’ school day finishes.
After school care club - For parents whose work is incompatible with our pick up time, we are able to offer a late club from 3-5pm (Monday–Thursday) and 12–2pm (Friday). The club is managed by Infinite Active and supported by Horizon staff who know the children. The club is located in The Curiosity Cove (EYFS Playroom), giving that all important wind-down time for children after a busy school day.
We recognise that sometimes last minute issues may arise for parents either at work or at home, therefore the club will care for children until parents can pick them up. This service is charagable and cannot be regular unless pre-booked.
